Summer and winter are the best times to visit Austin for great hotel rates. The summer rates are low because it’s just so darn hot, but if you can stand the heat, there are no crowds, and room by the pools. Head out on your own or take one of their tours like the “Live Music Tour”. Be warned, there is no available ‘designated driver” so be careful.Take a tour or ride to your destination in a Pedicab? It’s the perfect way to safely visit a few nightclubs without worrying about driving, and a way to have much more fun. During the day when traffic can be intense, you driver will scoot around town un-obstructed and get you to your destination.
Take a Lake Travis Zip-line tour over the lake. Get the old juices flowing as you reach speeds of well over 60 mph.

Austin is home to some exciting and sudsy breweries, so why not visit a few and take a tour of the brewery. While visiting Austin, if time allows you need to take a day trip to San Antonio, and its famous chapel, The Alamo. Although you won’t find Davy Crocket or Daniel Boone manning the walls, guns ablaze, you will find the feeling of the history. Many brave men fought and died so that Texas could live. Of course, while in San Antonio, you’ll have to enjoy dining and a few sips along its famous “River walk”.Take a drive to Lockhart, Texas where they say you’ll find the best barbeque in the world. It’s worth the miles to experience barbeque at its finest, in restaurants including Black’s Barbeque, Smitty’s and Kreux, you will be hard pressed to pic a favorite here.
