NOAA/NMFS Sea Turtle FacilityThere is nowhere else in the United States are visitors can actually view camps Ridley sea turtle hatchlings, and endangered species watch them emerge and mature. Here you will find saltwater tanks with well over 600 living turtles and informing guides performing interactive demonstrations at the exhibits. Welcome to Galveston Texas, Sea turtle country.
Galveston County Historical Museum
A perfect setting for the Galveston County historical Museum you’ll find yourself inside a former private bank building circa 1919 extremely picturesque in itself. With ever-changing exhibits you just never know what you can see from the past life in Galveston Texas. This museum displays naval history mercantile history agriculture and other artifacts. There is even a display of the big hurricane that once that Galveston and what it did to this town.
Texas Seaport Museum and the Alyssa
What else can you expect in such a famous seaport is Galveston, and a 19th century Scottish sailing vessel that was built in 1877. This historic sea vessel participated in the Bicentennial Parade in New York City Harbor back in 1976 and still sales today. Transformed into a museum you will be taken on a tour via computerized information on the history of the immigrants who entered the lovely state of Texas through the port of Galveston.

Looking for some excitement on your vacation adventure, then head to the Galveston Island historic pleasure. This small little peer Park offers really big attractions with the newest ride a euro fighter roller coaster that will take your breath away. This park is really new just opened in 2012 and has rides for all ages from those up in the sky to flat rides on the ground. Take a break for the rides grab some lunch at one of the peer restaurants or do a little shopping.
