Wine and Dine Tips
There are choices for every taste on Mackinac Island, from seafood to pizza and sandwiches. Here are some favorites of visitors and locals alike to choose from. Remember, these are just suggestions, as you may find recommendations from your hotel or locals will suite you fine. The Yankee Rebel is a stones throw from the ferry line dock and most hotels, and offers casual yet excellent choices on the menu. On a cool evening, a large bowl of home made soup, Cajun Steak or Yankee Pot Roast may just be the ticket. No need to dress up because casual is just fine here. There is an excellent beer list, wine list and both are available by the glass.
The Seabiscuit Café is another possible site for dining. The name as well as décor honors all horses. This restaurant is what you would deem “cozy”, with lots of comfort food on the menu, along with a full bar. The kids are going to love the “Painted Pony Macaroni” and Dad, with your brew maybe some “War Admiral War Wings”?
