Sights you mustn’t miss

Visit Broadway on the Beach, a 350-acre shopping extravaganza surrounding the 23-acre lake. Wile Mon shops, maybe Dad and the boys will want to check out the Hard Rock Café, or a couple how about Margaretville.
Then of course there’s the famous boardwalk and shops, and the Ferris wheel.

Maybe you’ve always wanted to try Scuba Diving. The diving off the coast is full of surprises, and may PADI Dive Shops offer discovery tours for beginners. And everyone has heard of the exciting new adventure,Zip lining, and this adventure in the sky has you soaring 1000 ft. over Lake Broadway.
Maybe take a spin on the famous SkyWheel and view Myrtle Beach from 196 feet above the ground.

Wine and Dine Tips

A very popular “fine dining” and romantic restaurant, The Brentwood Restaurant and Wine Bistro is a great choice, with French cuisine served in an old mansion.

Another outstanding place to wine and dine your favorite lady is the SeaBlue Wine Bar. From the moment you walk in you feel the sophistication and modern ambience. From the artwork decorating the walls, to the wine list, to dinner menu, with fresh lobster, shellfish, lamb, duck, etc.

Day Trips

A great adventure is a day at the NASCAR Races at the Myrtle Creek Raceway. Another favorite since the 1950’s is the 1-½ hour ride to South of the Boarder northwest of Myrtle Beach. A fake Mexican Village with its giant towering sombrero, petting zoo and fireworks, this attraction has been a stopping point for vacationers for a long time.
Visit Charleston and Fort Sumter, where the Civil War began, with its old historic buildings, museums and some excellent restaurants.

Where to Stay

The main draw to this famous beach town is the Grand Stand, a mile-long stretch of beach where vacationers can indulge in sunbathing, scuba diving and windsurfing. This area is considered prime real estate and hotels along this stretch of shoreline are extremely popular.
The Embassy Suites Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort is always popular and puts you only steps away from casino boat cruises and exquisite dining.
If you're after luxury, reserve a room at Marriott's Ocean Watch Vilas at Grande Dunes or the Hilton Myrtle Beach.

Things to do with the kids in Myrtle

A beach holiday is a great time in everyone's lives - this is where memories are made, photos taken and quaint family customs dreamt up. Everybody's relaxed and the simple things are the best. Myrtle Beach is lovely any time of year and there's plenty to do here even if the weather does turn in. We'll help you find excellent accommodation close to the beach and the off peak prices are very, very good. The Grand Strand has fabulous beaches and there's a ton of attractions, so strap in, here's what to do and where to go. The Family Kingdom Amusement Park & Oceanfront Waterpark is at 300 4th Ave South and has all the usual excitements - from bumper cars and bumper boats or for the older kids, a thrilling rollercoaster ride. Little ones will love the old fashioned carousel or if you're brave enough take them up on the ferris wheel. Go-karts are also available and at the water park, you will find tons of slides and pools. Ripley's Aquarium is an awesome place to visit if you love seeing under water sea creatures. The kids will get to see amazing little creatures like sea turtles and tropical fish. There are sharks so you can start humming the Jaws theme (you know you want to) and a great stingray exhibit. You can meet the stingrays and penguins in person at the feeding station and ask the keeper all about their lives and habits. The Wild Water & Wheels fun park is at 910 Hwy 17 South and this is where the kids can spend the entire day and still not be bored. You'll find speed slides, tubes slides and all sorts of water activities. Adults can relax in a whirlpool while the children enjoy playing games in the activity pool. Enjoy racing around the park in go-karts or race cars. There's miniature golf, bumper boats, and more.

How the locals love Myrtle

Myrtle Beach is an all year round destination and the beach with its white sands, the boardwalk promenade area and the entertainment strip makes it great place day or night. But what do the locals do for their pleasure? It's a great place to spend a few days, and you'll find a great place to stay in any of the scenic hotspots. The Family Kingdom Amusement park is a place most of the townsfolk have grown up with and so their memories may well be tinged with the romance of a misspent youth, but that said, the Kingdom does boast rides including the Swamp Fox wooden roller coaster and a 100-foot Ferris wheel as well as a couple of absolute adrenalin pumpers on the Grand Strand. It must be pretty good - it has been voted Number 5 amusement park in the country. Speedway racing is a big deal down this way and the Speedway Nascar Racing Experience draws them in from all over the state. Book yourself in for some classroom training and race day driver experiences while you're here. The wildlife gets a look in too. The Alligator Adventure is on Barefoot Landing, U.S. 17, North Myrtle Beach and this is where the kids can go crazy, staring in open mouth amazement at all the reptiles on offer here. There are hundreds of American alligators of all sizes. Open 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily. One of the most popular things to do in the downtown area is walking the Boardwalk. It's a wonderful way to walk off dinner on a Fall evening and there's free entertainment June through August, but a fun place to visit any time of year.

We love Myrtle!

Myrtle Beach is a grand place to take the family. So much to see and do and all with the warmth of the Fall sun beating down on the back of your neck. The beach is great, the social activities designed to have something for everyone and plenty of local scenic sights should you tire of the beach. See Cheaprooms.com first of all and find a budget room in Myrtle Beach and get ready to give the family a beach break they'll love. If you've a big group to entertain, Myrtle Beach is ideal. Don't forget the 200-foot Skywheel, but don't worry there's plenty else for the adventurous and not-so-adventurous. Find a Myrtle Beach room close to the Boardwalk and you're away! First and foremost is the beach - some 60 miles of sand and salt-sea air. Tremendous stuff and just perfect for lounging in the sun with good book. But when you're done beaching, take time out with these local attractions. Ripley's Aquarium is excellent for the kids with a series of exploration areas including Rio Amazon, Rainbow Rock, Systems Controls, Dangerous Reef, Living Gallery, Ray Bay, and Friendship Flats, all based on the environments they're named after. You can see killer sharks up close or just gaze in amazement at the multi-colored tropical fish. Take a trip out o the ocean blue and explore the low country areas around Myrtle Beach, Georgetown and Winyah Bay in a big catamaran. This is one of the longest settled areas in America and the history is fascinating. Nature is also here in abundance; water and salt marsh will surround you, as dolphins or a sea turtle swim alongside, and overhead gulls, terns, herons and egrets soar across the peaceful skies. The people to look out for are Rover Tours.

My, my Myrtle Beach - how you've changed!

Time was, Myrtle Beach was a local paradise; enjoyed mostly by South Carolinians - my how times have changed! Myrtle Beach hosted some 14 million people last year. Check Cheaprooms.com first of all and find a budget room in Myrtle Beach and enjoy that summer, fun lovin' atmosphere. Try for the Grand Stand along the beach front for your hotel choices. This will mean you're just steps away from the golden sands. Find cheap accommodation in Myrtle Beach and enjoy a good old fashioned beach vacation. Once the sun has set the most fun you can have in Myrtle is at the Carolina Opry. The grand building welcomes you in with an exceptional evening of musical entertainment. No run of the mill show, this is the real deal with talented musicians and performers. Generally there's a long running show on centered around a theme - it's excellent value for money and outstandingly good entertainment. Have you got the kids with you? Most of your days will be well spent at the beach - but if the sun proves too much or, heaven forbid, there's a rainstorm, turn to Captain Hook's Adventure Golf at 2205 North King's Hwy. The greens are new and the mini putt course well maintained. And any Peter Pan fans will love the layout. So you really want to see what Myrtle Beach is all about? Climb aboard the Skywheel and see it from on high. The views you get from the air-conditioned glass paneled cabins is wonderful and gives a real sense of perspective across the Myrtle area.
