Sights you mustn’t miss
Seattle’s 605 foot tall Space Needle in the center of the city is a fantastic way to see the city. Don’t worry about the climb, because elevators take you to the top. Don’t forget your camera.A visit to Seattle any time of year demands some time spent in Pikes Market on the waterfront. Let your nose take you on a tour of this iconic market, with fresh baked bread, coffee and other enchantments. Craft booths, jewelry, clothing, and of course fresh seafood are everywhere. For the aviation junkie or the casual visitor, there is always something on display at the Seattle Museum of Flight that trips your fancy. As one of the largest space and flight displays in the U.S., you will be in awe of the first presidential Air Force One’s, and of course a full size Concorde jetliner.Visit the Woodland Park Zoo, a 92-acre zoological garden quite possibly the largest in the U.S., where you can take a stroll and feed the birds in the Willawong Station aviary.

When visiting the Space Needle, keep in mind the Sky city Restaurant at the very top. Enjoy lunch while taking in the sites. You’ll find the prices aren’t bad for a major attraction.The Black Bottle Gastrotavern is an experience in itself. A great stop for Pub food, Tapas or fresh seafood.
The Pacific Northwest is known for some great wines, so if your palate is screaming for grapes, then a good start is the Purple Café and Wine Bar on 4th Ave. You find a terrific selection of wines with choices that should agree with any budget. The menu was quite extensive but when in doubt, try the sampler menu.
Day Trips
Take a drive to Mount Rainer National Park approximately 2 ½ hours away. On a sunny day when the mountain isn’t completely snowed out, it makes for a terrific encounter. Remember, this mountain is one of the most snow covered on earth. An added bonus is lunch at the Copper Creek In at the base of the mountain.Take a ride to the Snoqualmie Falls for a spectacular sight about 45 minutes east of Seattle. This falls receives over 1.5 million visitors each year because it is so spectacular. Over 270 feet high, you can view from the top on a small observation deck. Watch your step. If you plan right, the Salish Lodge and Spa is right near the base of the falls for lunch, dinner, and maybe a visit to the spa.
