Tagaytay is most often a great first stop on your visit to the Philippines. With exceptional weather almost all year long, it has over years become not only an equestrian region but also has seen growth of world-class gold courses. Known as a place to relax, this is a place to seek peace and your golf balls.
When to Visit Based on Price
Your best bet for reduced rates is during the winter months, December and January.

Low Season:
November through February is less busy. Average Daily Rates of:
  • 2 Star: $38-$59
  • 3 Star: $40-$130
  • 4 Star: $65-$195
High Season: March through October offers the best weather, and destination for families. Average Daily Rates of:
  • 2 Star: $50-$59
  • 3 Star: $40-$169
  • 4 Star: $65-$196
Magic Savings Tip: With less people visiting the city during the winter months of November and December, if you pack for the colder weather, you can still enjoy this town, and find better deals.

Sights you mustn’t miss

A visit to the Healing & Meditation Center: Tierra de Maria, which is commonly referred to as Haven of Meditation, can certainly be a cure to your day-to-day stress.
You will view the fifty-foot statue of Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth. This landmark statue is there for one purpose, to remind visitors to pray. While there you might visit the meditation deck on the third floor with the most spectacular view of Taal Volcano.

Fun things to do

Cross the Taal Lake to the island in the middle and either climb or travel by horseback to the top of Taal Volcano. Another excellent way to view this lake and volcano is from the Tagaytay crater rim, where you will find hotels and restaurants. Bring that camera.
If you are in fact there to relax, or golf, you may find that your body is begging for relief. Perhaps some time at the Nuture Spa is in order? This spa has long been a destination for those coming to Tagaytay on vacation.
One of the main reasons besides relaxation for visiting here is the majestic golf. If you have a chance or can make a chance, and are a golfer, you should grab your clubs or rent them and play the Tagaytay Highlands Golf Course.

Wine and Dine Tips

By far one of the most popular restaurants in this city is Leslie’s with a spectacular view of the volcano. If you really want to eat like a native, then try the traditional Tagaytay “Bulalo soup”. Roving singers will visit your table, so be sure to tip a few pesos.
Another adventure in dining, and actually fine dining is Antonio’s Farm. This restaurant fits the description of a “romantic” place to take you spouse for dinner. Rumor has it that the Grilled Chilean Sea Bass and Angus steaks are to die for.
If you desire a good hearty meal, some wine to sip as well as wine to go back to your room, venture out to Santis in Silang, just outside of town. Here you can enjoy deli food, steaks, imported cheeses and it also is a wine shop.

Day Trips

Take a drive about an hour or so to Manila, the capitol of the Philippines. There is so much to see and do, as well as some excellent restaurants as well.
