One of the most famous attractions in the city is Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park, which has beautifully landscaped gardens and the restored 1920s home of Alfred B. Maclay, the New York financier. The state government used to be located in this old building, before it moved to a nearby modern skyscraper. The original state capital building is now a museum which has been restored to its former glory and looks the way it did in 1902.
