Be amazed at the animals and exhibits in this 64-acre zoo, located along the Rio Grande River. Visit with many aquatic species in the Aquarium, and stroll through the well appointed and planted Rio Grande Botanic Gardens. If you need some time in the sun and brought you bathing suit then it’s off to Tingley Beach for the ladies and fishing for the guys in one of the lakes.

Take a tour of Albuquerque from the sky in a hot air balloon. Albuquerque is the hot air ballooning capital of the world, so what better place to experience this heart banging experience. Choose from one of the many ballooning companies for an experience of a lifetime.

Take the 2.7- mile Aerial Tram to the peak of the Sandia Mountains, some 10,378 feet at the top for a view to die for. This tram runs day and night, with a massive panoramic view during the day, and the twinkling of millions of lights at night.

Wining and Dining Tips

Albuquerque is the place to test you taste buds with the star attraction in most dishes being the chile pepper, which by the way is the state fruit. The town has abundant restaurants featuring Spanish, Native American and Mexican cuisine. Some of the best food experiences can be found in one of the local “mom and pop” restaurants, with down home cooking.

There are so many great restaurants to choose from, but some that stand out are La Salita for Mexican grub, Pueblo Harvest in Old Town and Rudy’s Country Store and Barbeque, which many call the best barbeque in town. If you and your love interest are in the mood for romantic fine dining, then it’s reservations at Antiquity Restaurant in Old Town. Our “hot tip” for this restaurant is the Chateaubriand for two, carved at tableside.
