Portillo’sExperience of local history with a visit that Portillo’s and the reality that was once a dream for Dick Portillo who back in 1963 opened his first hotdog stand known as the doghouse in Villa Park. Today that little hotdog cart has turned into multiple restaurants for Dick and a visit to Portillo’s will give you the experience of that excellent hotdog of the 60s. Of course there are other things on the menu now besides hot dogs including great burgers and beer. In fact is a menu of salads beef and sausage sandwiches soups and chicken sandwiches. This is just a great place for lunch. Ask any local.
