Located on the USA/Mexico border, El Paso is known as the “Sun City” and it is the 6th largest city in Texas. It gets its nickname because the sun shines an average of 302 days per year here. It stands on the Rio Grande and is greatly influenced by Mexican culture, with Spanish widely spoken. It has a very hot desert climate, with scorching summers and mild, dry winters.

Other shopping centres include Sunland Park Mall and Cielo Vista Mall.There is also a lot of shopping downtown, with several malls scattered throughout the city. The most popular items to shop for in El Paso are Mexican imports, Southwestern Art and Western wear.

Just outside of the city you will find the Fort Bliss Army Base, which is the largest US Military Installation in the world.Also, Guadalupe Mountains National Park is around100 miles to the east, so you can go hiking in this amazing scenic wilderness and see some of the rugged canyons, desert flats and impressive rock formations.
