Planning a visit to Florida for time with Mickey and Minnie? Your hotel in Kissimmee will put you within a few minute of the Walt Disney World Resort, along with other major attractions such as SeaWorld, International Drive, and Universal Studios. In terms of proximity and value, Kissimmee is a popular choice for travelers that want to be close to Disney without paying the inflated rates of staying on Disney property.

When to Visit Based on Price

Vacation season to the Orlando area lasts all year, however there are high and low seasons that can impact your hotel rate. Depending on when you go, you can save up to 40% on your daily rate.
• Low Season: January to mid-February and early September to late November with Average Daily Rates of:
  • 2 Star: $29 - $145
  • 3 Star: $36 - $320
  • 4 Star: $118 - $450
• High Season: Early spring and summer months with Average Daily Rates of:
  • 2 Star: $33 - $145
  • 3 Star: $44 - $323
  • 4 Star: $110-$480
Magic Savings Tip: Your best hotel rates are during non-holiday periods and during the school year, which also promises shorter lines at attractions, and better availability at restaurants.

Sights you mustn’t miss

Osceola County Pioneer Village

Take a guided tour of this historical re-created town, with it’s original 1880’s building, or stroll around on your own. For just $5 you get a history lesson and be taken back in time to a much simpler life in the 1880’s. The tour takes around 45 minutes, and after you can choose to walk the lovely nature preserve just across the street.

Museum of Military History

You will find a great collection of military history, with well over 50,000 items on display. For those interested in military history, or those that have served, the $5 for veterans and $7 for non-veterans is well worth the experience.

Fun things to do

Visit Old Town

If your staying in Kissimmee you should definitely spend some time in Old Town, where you and the kids can enjoy the amusement rides, including the “Windstorm Roller Coaster” and family Go-Cart Track. If shopping is your thing, there are more than 75 specialty shops to spend your time and money. On weekends you will find hundreds of old classic cars on the streets, and on Saturday evenings experience the Saturday Nite Car Cruise, the oldest weekly car cruise in the U.S.

Legends Hauntings at Old Town

Everyone should enjoy the combination of fear and fun in this unique “fun house”. Take a stroll through Ashton and Son’s Undertakers in business since 1889, where you meet some “clients” who just couldn’t remain dead. This is truly a state of the art when it comes to effects, and combined with real actors, prepair to jump from your skin at last once.

Fantasy Surf

If you’ve never surfed before but always dreamed of trying it, maybe it’s time to fulfill that fantasy here at Fantasy Surf. Fun for the whole family you enjoy the adventure of catching your first wave in a controlled environment. Who knows, maybe it’s the start of a new career?
