Sights you mustn’t miss
National Cowboy and Western Heritage MuseumBeing in cow country, a visit to this excellent museum is definitely a sight to see. The museum itself was founded back in 1955 and has collected and preserved a large collection of Western artifacts and artwork, which is on display. The education of both youngsters as well as adults has attracted millions of visitors. To many, just the Oil on Canvas painting of “The Duke” John Wayne by Everett Kinstler is worth the admission along.
Oklahoma Science Museum
Located within the walls of this excellent museum are displays of cultural artifacts, aviation and space exploration. Over eight acres of science, including an IMAX Theater and other live shows.
Oklahoma City Zoo
Who doesn’t enjoy a day at the zoo, especially one that is so animal conscience, with an award of excellence in 2013? This zoo is part of the Species Survival Plan dedicated to rare and endangered wildlife. In addition to the usual bears and lions, children can actually interact and touch stingrays in the new Stingray Bay. Also on display are bamboo and bonnethead sharks.
