Sights you mustn't miss
Set on its lovely, curving bay, the city of Palma is the island’s cultural hub, with its history and heritage going back as far as Roman times. The volcanic interior of the island is stunning, with the plains leading up to the Tramuntana mountain slopes with their traditional villages, just an hour away from the coast.For a day on a practically deserted beach, head for the traditional fishing village of Deia, an hour’s drive from Palma and famous as the home of poet and author Robert Graves.
