Sights you mustn’t miss

A day or more on Pismo State beach, followed by a walk around the quaint little town, and a glass of California wine, while enjoying one of the stunning sunsets over the water.
Spend some time on the Pismo Pier, bring a book, a sandwich, camera, and relax.

Fun things to do

Rent a sea kayak and get some sun, exercise and maybe visit a sea otter or two on the water.
Take a surfing lesson and learn your way around a long board.
Go on an ATV San Dunes Guided Tour.
Another prime attraction and event for the sportsman and woman is salt water fishing on a guided vessel. Why not catch your own dinner and hav a chef custom cook it for you in one of the restaurants?

Wine and Dine Tips

While staying in town, you must enjoy a cup or bowl of the world famous Clam Chowder at Splash Café. This award winning chowder, featured in both Bon Appetite and Gourmet magazine is well worth a stop.
Before heading out to the end of the Pismo Pier, or on way back a stop in at the Boardroom Sports Bar and Pub might be in order. You will be amazed at the beer menu.
For “fine dining” and a good wine list, Marisol Restaurant at the Cliffs Resort is an excellent choice. You will find fresh local seafood, steaks and a view of the ocean to die for. Reservations suggested.

Day Trips

Visit the wineries in the San Louis Obispo Wine Country. Pick up a wine trail map at the visitors center or your hotel and take a ride for a sip or two.
Take a ride to San Louis Obispo, do some shopping, and maybe visit the Mission San Louis Obispo de Tolosa, the original 1797 mission, which has remained like you see it today since it was built.
Also in San Louis Obispo is a really nice farmers market.
