Sights you mustn’t miss
A visit to River Street is a must when visiting Savannah area. Located in the river port, shop in more than seventy shops, galleries, and see this old thriving area has been restored. It’s a terrific place to grab a bite to eat, a cup of coffee, lunch or dinner. And being located in a “sailors world”, you can find a tankard of brew at one of the pubs.Visit Wormsloe Plantation Historic Site, for a peak into the history of the 1700’s and plantation life. Visit old historic gravesites, the original Jones plantation house as well as a museum housing some very interesting artifacts of the times.
Another haunting and historic place to visit is the Bonaventure Cemetery, open from 8am-5pm.This 150 year old cemetery sits high overlooking the Wilmington River, and as you browse the gravesites and old moss covered trees, you will surely enjoy that it isn’t a night tour.
